Get Your Confidence Back on the Road
Life sometimes gets in the way — whether it is moving somewhere without a car, a long illness, or simply years of not needing to drive. Whatever the reason, returning to driving after a break can feel daunting. Andy's refresher lessons are designed specifically to help you rebuild your confidence in a calm, patient, and non-judgemental environment.
You will not be treated like a complete beginner — Andy assesses where you are now and focuses the sessions on exactly what needs attention, whether that is motorway driving, roundabouts, parking, or simply getting used to modern road conditions again.
Who Are Refresher Lessons For?
- Drivers who have not been behind the wheel for months or years
- People who passed their test but never drove independently afterwards
- Nervous or anxious drivers who lack confidence on busy roads
- Drivers who have moved to the UK from another country
- Anyone who has been involved in an accident and wants to rebuild confidence
- New drivers who want to tackle the motorway for the first time
What Will We Cover?
Every refresher is tailored to the individual — there is no fixed syllabus. In your first session Andy will assess your current level and agree a plan with you. Common areas covered include:
- General road positioning and observation habits
- Roundabouts, junctions, and busy town centre driving
- Motorway and dual carriageway driving
- Parking manoeuvres (parallel, bay, angled)
- Driving at night or in adverse weather conditions
- Building confidence on unfamiliar or faster roads
Block bookings available
If you need several sessions, block bookings give you a discount per hour versus booking individually. See the prices page or call Andy to discuss.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
It depends entirely on how long you have been off the road and which specific areas need attention. Some people feel fully confident again after two or three sessions; others prefer a longer course. Andy will give you an honest assessment after your first lesson and let you decide how to proceed from there.
